9 gut loving gummie recipes your kids (and you) will love

Gelatin gummies have been a hit with Orlando lately. I’ve dived into experimenting with different flavours and making a variety of healthy treats for him (and me ) which he absolutely adores.

If you’ve never heard of it, or just need a little refresher - gelatin is a protein and contains collagen, which you need for building connective tissue, and for strong nails, hair and skin.

Gelatin is great for keeping little (and big) tummies healthy. Why? Because of this cool stuff called glycine which is an amino acid found in the connective tissues in joints, which helps heal the gut.

All autoimmune symptoms start in the digestive tract, which is why it’s so important to keep little tummies healthy from the start.

Glycine supports brain function too, and an absolute must if you suffer with mama brain, brain fog, anxiety, depression, and sleep issues.

Gummies are are a great way of getting these amazing benefits into tiny tummies. Here are some awesome recipes to get your gummie ball rolling.

Where to buy?

There's a few on the market but I really love Sarah Wilson's Gut Lovin' Gelatin which you can buy from her store here. I love it because it's the real deal, 100% natural, made in Australia from ethically and sustainably pasture-raised cows.

Perfect Buckwheat Pancakes
Perfect Buckwheat Pancakes

You can't go wrong with a good pancake for breakfast. Finding a recipe that is healthy and tastes good can be a little tricky however. I've tried almond meal and find it burns too quickly, I've tried coconut flour and it's just that little bit too dry. Buckwheat or even amaranth flour however both hold up under pressure, and with a touch of yoghurt could even pass for the real deal. This recipe is packed with protein, which will keep you fuller for longer, without the bloat. Enjoy! SaveSaveSaveSaveSave

Smokey Pulled Pork

Pulled pork down right is a winner for any meat lover. Rich in iron, lean and oh so tasty you can enjoy pulled pork in a slider, taco or as a main with some roast vegetables and slaw. I like to make a big batch of pulled pork from time to time and enjoy over the next couple of days. If you have a slow cooker, it's literally a matter of putting a roast shoulder in, rubbing it all over with spices, turning the slow cooker on and enjoying when it's ready. SaveSave
