Tell me about Staying Home with Love and what inspired you to start it?
The instagram page started about 2.5 years ago and was a space for pure fun, to reach out to other mummies and feel among the great sisterhood/community instagram provides. It's such a great way to connect with people from all around the world and to ask questions about this amazing, rewarding but challenging gig called "motherhood"
What is your motto?
“Eat, Play, Love” which I have in scrabble letters on my fridge as a reminder to….Eat, to feed my family's bodies with good food that gives us energy. Play, until the sun goes down whether that’s at home, park with friends, visiting our favourite cafes, or spending time with the grandparents, and to Love and respect one another and celebrate everyone for their differences.
How many kids do you have?
Between my Husband Brett and I we have 5 kids. Sophia (3) and George (1) and three step kids Olivia (16) Josh (14) and Jack (12). It’s one busy household but I've always wanted a big family and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Favourite home activity?
Its definitely not washing and folding (ask my husband) sometimes he has a huge folding frenzy and tackles it all for me! (good man!) But we do love cooking together.
Sophia is at an age where she loves making cookies, balls and pancakes. Anything that includes mixing, measuring and having a picnic in the sunshine in the backyard.
George is also getting old enough now where he likes to join in. His favourite part is licking the spoon!
What is your favourite recipe?
I love to try out new recipes and I’m constantly changing up our food.
My favourite recipes at the moment are:
Breakfast Cacao & Almond Smoothie
1 espresso shot
1 frozen banana
1 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp cacao powder
2 tbsp oat bran
1 tsp protein powder
1 cup of ice
Place in a blender, blitz and enjoy.
Sweet Potato and Zucchini Slice
2 tsp olive oil
1 large brown onion
300g sweet potato
2 garlic cloves
2 egg whites
1/4 cup of flour
1. Preheat oven to 180, grease and line a slice pan
2. Cook onion stirring for 3 minutes, stir in sweet potato, and garlic and cook for another 4 minutes.
3. whisk the eggs, egg whites and flour in a bowl until smooth. Whisk in the ricotta, then the sweet potato mixture, zucchini and season with salt and pepper.
4. Pour mixture into a prepared pan. bake for 25/30 minutes or until golden. I serve my slice up with rocket and cherry tomatoes with a drizzle of balsamic.
Anything from Marley and Spoon (if you haven’t tried this I couldn’t recommend it highly enough it’s honestly a godsend) and of course The Fit Foodie protein balls where you just add the wet ingredients and ta da they are done in under 30 minutes. Healthy choices are getting so much easier and convenient these days, it's amazing!

When your not "working", people will find you
When I have some time to myself I love having a good massage or a facial. It's just been a very recent thing but every Friday both kids go to kindy. I didn't know what to do with myself the first day but if I haven't booked any appointments or catch ups, I love sitting out the back in the sunshine reading or going for a big long walk. Sometimes I even fit in a nap before picking them both up.
