Sundays are a day for rest, family and exploring. There is nothing sleepy about the Sunshine Coast on a weekend, and here at The Well Nest we love finding something new to experience each week.
Here are five of our favourite ways to spend Sunday with the family on the Sunshine Coast.
Noosa Farmers Markets
Here you can stock up on fresh, organic and local produce while also indulging in breakfast, coffee and juices from one of the many food stalls. Our top picks are the longboard seeded toast with avocado, the organic apple stall with oodles of sweet little apples, the vegan cheese made in Noosa, and the amazing local avocados found at more than one stall.
There are few memories more treasured than days spent at the beach lathered in natural sunscreen, coated in sand and swimming in the ocean as a family.
Noosa has ample waterfront options from Main Beach, Little Cove, the River Mouth, and Tee Tree Bay just a short walk in the National Park.
Peregian Originals & Markets
Held on the second Sunday of the month, the Peregian Originals is a free live music event with local bands and nationally and internationally touring acts.
The Originals start at 1pm and you will find a face painter, sausage sizzle, and music, art and food stalls. The first and third Sundays of each month host the Peregian Beach Markets from 7am to 12.30pm.
The event boasts a huge number of stalls with art, craft, upcycled, recycled, handmade, homegrown, organic and fair trade items.
Learn to Surf
There is nothing like tackling a new skill as a family to bring you closer together.
The Sunshine Coast boasts some of the safest surf beaches in Queensland including Coolum, Caloundra, Mooloolaba, Sunshine Beach and Noosa Heads.
Make a day out of learning to ride the waves as a family; or explore the water on hire stand up paddle boards or kayaks.
Noosa River in Noosaville offers an abundance of manicured parkland, safe swimming spots, relaxed cafes, barbecue facilities and a playground.
From here you can hire a jet ski, boat, kayak, or stand up paddle board, or catch the Noosa Ferry and travel between Noosa Marina and Hastings Street.
