What's in a feeling?

September 03, 2015 0 Comments

Wednesday mornings usually start by a rude wake up call from down the hall somewhere between 5 and 6AM by our tiny little alarm clock called Orlando, who then turns from a sweet cuddly angel into Disney's Taz, the Tassie Devil, whirling through our house in a tornado of toys, blankets, nappies, undies, food and lots of noise. But this isn't a story about him. Instead, this Wednesday I was fortunate enough to join an elite group of women, for a blissful blindfolded yin yoga session held at the beautiful South Bank Parklands, before sampling the new spring menu at Kiss the Berry.

So what's all this got to do with feeling?

The morning was quite literally a feast for all my senses, and coincided with the newly launched lululemon athletica Sensation Innovation. In a nutshell, the clever chaps at lululemon want you to feel your best when you're working out, and have created four sensations and a range of pants that deliver exactly how you want feel.

The sensations are...

  • Relaxed
  • Naked
  • Hugged
  • Held In
  • Tight

All participants in this mini morning retreat were gifted a pair of lululmeon tights to trial. Naturally, as any post baby body would, I picked Held In. My new Ultra Violet (very bright) Zone In Crop arrived accompanied by a matching bunch of gorgeous orchids. Thank you!

The tag read: These yoga crops are engineered with zoned compression to keep you feeling held-in and supported in all the right places.

Perfect!

Slipping them on... they fit like a dream, and do exactly what they promised. I sound like one of those ladies peddling the latest tummy tucking singlet on an infomercial, but seriously these tights feel SO GOOD! Gravity defying, butt lifting, tummy tucking, thigh toning good!

Back to my morning, in my amazing butt lifting tights... I was fortunate enough to share this beautiful morning with some of Queensland's finest health gurus including Instagram darlings:

The ever so amazing Mel Cartwright of Anchor Training, took us through a blissful 30 minute blindfolded yoga session, that allowed me to stop comparing my technique, and drooling over everyone's hot new lulu tights and actually tune into my practice. The beautiful setting, as you can see, was definitely pleasing on the old eyes, and a welcome change to the usual destruction of our living room. My finally the Pièce De Résistance, the decadent Jam Doughnut Acai Bowl, made my taste buds do the Cha Cha.

So what's in a feeling? Everything. A few small ingredients like good food, good company, a little yoga (with a twist) and some seriously good tights (which i wore the whole day and contemplated sleeping in), made for a super amazing day. I took the crops for a spin with a quick workout later that day, and they truly do live up to their promise.

So if you're on the market for a new pair of crops, give the peeps at lululemon a holler and tell them how you want to feel.
