What is wellness?

If you are reading this email, my guess is that you are on your own journey to health and wellness. But how do you know when you get there?

Wellness is such a personal journey. How do you know when you have reached your desired destination? Do you stop when you get there? How do you know when you are "well"?

When questioning any matter I like to ask myself  two simple question, "How does this make you feel"  and "How do I want to feel"? To be "well" for me means having energy, vigour, lightness, movement, flexibility, breeziness, flow, zest, presence, that za za zing and playfulness. For you that might be something completely different. You might want to feel strong, courageous, inspired, sexy, loving, nurturing, or even grounded. Whatever the words, when paving your path always ask yourself how you want to feel, and how your present choices are making you feel at this very moment.

I recently decided to deffer my studies because my feeling words came up to be "choking" and "anxious". Not something anyone would align with wellness. I have been experiencing severe anxiety lately and had to re-evaluate my life to see what needed to change. Asking myself a simple question of how my choices make me feel gives me the answer to my question and the courage to back my decision.

In an ideal world it would be great to always make the right choices to make you feel the way you want, everyday. Life happens, and quite often we choose to make sacrifices. This is why TJ and I decided to create Well Nest Wednesdays. It's a day to remind you to choose YOU. Because you matter. We invite you to share your Well Nest Wednesday choices by sharing them on social media with a hashtag #WellNestWednesday.

This could be ...

  • nourishing yourself with a healthy meal (we can help with that)
  • performing an act of kindness
  • pampering yourself
  • going for a walk
  • taking 10 deep breaths
  • investing in your health
  • making a difficult decision
  • giving something up that no longer serves you
  • meditating
  • forgiveness
  • letting go
  • picking up a great book
Whatever you choose we want to know about it and help you celebrate doing something for you.
